Samsung has demonstrated the prototype for a transparent OLED display at the 2010 CES in the form of a 14-inch laptop screen.
Samsung’s transparent OLED laptop display allows 40 percent of light to pass through when it’s turned off. When it’s on, you can see your desktop and applications, but still see through to what’s behind. The company declared the laptop as the world’s largest transparent OLED display.
Samsung also demonstrated an MP3 player with 2-inch transparent OLED and hopes to incorporate the technology into a variety of future devices including notebooks, smartphones and vehicle displays.
