Motorola Droid 2 official launch: August 12

Motorola Droid is history. Now, Motorola has recently announced the official launch date of its highly expected Droid 2 phone as on August 12. The specifications of this newly being launched phone are so not alluring. However it will still hit the market among the phones with feather-touch screen mechanism that will be quite attractive.

Specifications of the Motorola Droid 2

  •   Android 2.1 (unless Verizon pumps out a last minute 2.2 update to it)
  •   3.7″ screen
  •   750MHz OMAP processor
  •   Wi-Fi tethering
  •   8GB internal
  •   8GB SD card preinstalled
  •   Updated keyboard
  •   5MP camera
  •   New version of Motoblur
  •   No HDMI port
  •   No front facing camera

We like about this phone:

  • Its feather-touch interface.
  • Wi-Fi tethering which is quite optimum.
  • Motoblur feature

We dont like about it:

  • No HDMI port
  • No front camera means no video calling
  • Less on storage support

Motorola is now paving its steps to the next generation phones such as MOTOROI and with the new Android 2.2 based phone like Motorola Droid 2.
